Since October 2012 he serves as the CEO of Nationale-Nederlanden PTE S.A. (formerly ING PTE S.A).
Previously he worked at the Brokerage House of the Gdansk’s Bank, the Commercial Union Life Insurance Company and the American Bank in Poland. In 1998 he has joined Nationale-Nederlanden Association of Public Employees' Retirement S.A, where he was a senior investment specialist, deputy director of the Investment Department and then its director (responsible for managing the fixed-income portfolio).
In February 2004, he was appointed as a Member of the Board of Association and in October 2006 as Vice President of the Board of Nationale-Nederlanden PTE S.A.
In his professional career he has many achievements. Grzegorz Chłopek has definitely contributed to the growth and made his managed pension fund the leading financial institution in Poland , in terms of the number of clients and the amount of managed assets.
He graduated from the Warsaw University of Technology (Faculty of Electronics and Information Technology), he was a lecturer at the Actuarial Summer School (Department of Economic Sciences, University of Warsaw), and a stock market broker (License No. 432). Holder of the CFA title.

Currently he participates in the development of innovative IT products for medicine. He is also involved in projects in the RES sector.
The theme of the presentation will be entrepreneurship on the crossroads of science and business. Science and business are not seen as a matched couple. Although everyone sees the benefits of collaborating in these two sectors, success stories in this area are still rarities rather than a beaten track. How shall we build a start-up that will succeed? Where shall we get ideas for business? During the meeting, we will discuss issues related to the transition from the academic to business sector and threats related to the cooperation with public entities. We will also talk about success factors and opportunities provided by combining learning with business. The meeting will be an opportunity to learn from a practitioner why you should try your hand at business.

Novartis is one of the biggest producers of the innovative, biosimilar and ophthalmic pharmaceuticals as well as the generic medicine of the wide-used medicines. Its products are available in over 180 countries. The number of patients who made use of the Novartis’ therapies reached 1 billion in 2015. Novartis employs 123 000 people of 144 nationalities worldwide.
The meeting will be led by the head of the department of the pharmaceuticals used in the respiratory system disorders- Novartis Poland sp. z o.o. He has been associated with commercial departments of the pharmaceutical sector in terms of sales, marketing and distribution. He has been working in some innovative companies as well as the ones, which produce cheaper counterparts of the medicines. He has a 15-year-old experience in the pharmaceutical department where he climbed the professional ladder- from being a medical representative to obtaining high managerial positions. He believes that teamwork and coaching are very important. He is keen on sailing and motorization. He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin.
