About European identity and values, the meaning of solidarity and the role of young people in the modern world, the participants of the Economic Forum of Young Leaders 2007 in Nowy Sącz talk about.
Forum is a partner programme of the17th Economic Forum in Krynica, which will start on Wednesday.
„We hope that we will create a Davos of young people. Poland should also actively take part in discussion on future of Europe” – said on Wednesday to PAP Michał Wójcik, programme director of the event.
Wójcik emphasised, that Forum is an opportunity for young people to meet and talk with those people, who are in power now, and also to build their network of contacts.
Among special guests and panellists of Forum, there are: European Commissioner for Enterprise and Industry Guenter Verheugen, European Commissioner for Regional Policy Danuta Huebner, Minister of Regional Development Grażyna Gęsicka.
In the meeting, there are also representatives of political, non-governmental, social and economic, organizations from 33 countries, aged from 18 to 33 years old. They will take also part in the17th Economic Forum in Krynica, which will start in the afternoon today.
The official language of the Economic Forum of Young Leaders is English, and you can follow the event via Internet.
The Economic Forum of Young Leaders takes place for the third time. Its organizers are: European Meeting Centre – Nowy Staw Foundation, Economic Forum in Krynica and Foundation for the Development of the Education System - the Polish National Agency of the Youth in Action Programme.
The Nowy Sącz’s Forum is under the special patronage of the speaker of Senate Bogdan Borusewicz. The event will finish on September 7th.
